The Ascension Parish Retired Educators Association (APRÈA) held its first regular meeting of the new year February 12, 2015, at City Hall in Donaldsonville. The group reviewed the new 2015-2016 Directory and discussed the upcoming programs and/or activities for the year. Also discussed were the legislative updates regarding TRSL benefits.

Among the several programs and/or activities planned for the year are Book Day, participation in the District IV Spring Meeting in Baton Rouge and the LRTA State Meeting in Alexandria, a visit to Chateau D'ville Rehab and Retirement, Annual Dinner Meeting for recognition of new retirees and area wide outstanding young adults, the Christmas Outreach and Christmas Dinner/Meeting for unit members. A regular monthly activity of the group is providing birthday cakes for the residents at Chateau D'ville Rehab and Retirement.

The hostesses for the month of February were Rosetta Brown, Mary Ann Edwards, Claudia Celestine and Mary A. Jackson. To celebrate Valentine's Day, the members exchanged gifts.

Thanks to Mayor Leroy Sullivan for the use of the Conference Room.
