St. Joseph Society’s St. Joseph Altar at St. Francis Church Hall on Sunday, March 22.

The St. Joseph Society sponsored its annual St. Joseph Altar at St. Francis Church Hall on Sunday, March 22. The society served well over 900 people in the tradition.

The St. Joseph Altar is a tradition that started in Italy and was brought over to the United States with Italian families who moved to the United States. The original altars were started as a sacrifice to St. Joseph in providing food to the poor and less fortunate people. Everything that is given to the public is free as a sacrifice to St. Joseph the husband of Mary who gave of himself in his lifetime to helping the poor and those in need.
