Donaldsonville’s Kelsey Helms graduates Air Force Airman training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Kelsey E. Helms graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Helms is the daughter of Angel Helms of Houston, Texas, and Robert Helms of Donaldsonville, La., and step-daughter of Mindy Helms of Donaldsonville, La. She is also the granddaughter of Penny Munsell of Houston, Texas, and Bobby Helms of Eupora, Miss., and niece of Judy Eubanks of Eupora, Miss.

The airman graduated in 2014 from Donaldsonville High School, Donaldsonville, La.
