Donaldsonville man arrested for stalking

DONALDSONVILLE – On Sept. 15, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Opelousas St. in reference to a disturbance, according to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre.

Upon deputies arrival they learned that Jonathan Butler, 29, was sending harassing messages via text messaging to an ex-girlfriend.

     Deputies also learned that Butler was recently released from prison for domestic abuse battery he committed on the same person. A stay away order was issued by Judge Tureau on Oct. 7, 2014 but had recently expired.

     The victim moved to an undisclosed residence to  get away from Butler, but he was able to locate the victim’s new residence.

     Deputies’ investigating the incident was able to located Butler and he was arrested without incident, added Lt. Col. Webre.

     Jonathan Butler, 29, of 1036 Nolan St., Donaldsonville, was arrested and charged with stalking. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
