Neighboring resident arrested for credit card fraud

     PIERRE PART – Sheriff Mike Waguespack reported that on Nov. 3, Assumption Parish detectives were contacted by an individual about being the victim of an online scam. 

     It was learned that Latisha Landry, 32, 107 Cross La Rue St., Pierre Part was operating an online store called Elite Boutique through Facebook. Individuals would make a purchase through the online store but never receive their items. Investigation has so far revealed victims from six states who made purchases that were never delivered. 

     A warrant was issued for her arrest on Nov. 19 and she was arrested on Nov. 22.  Additional victims and charges may be forthcoming.

     Her bond has not been set at this time and she is still in custody as of the time of this release.
