  1. Take the kids for storytime All Ascension Parish Library’s host toddler storytime for children through age two and their parents at 10 a.m., and at 11 a.m. there will be preschool storytime for children three through five. The seasonal storytime series will introduce young children to letters, words and sounds through a variety of programs designed to foster early literacy skills.
  2. Learn about Black History Month: On Feb. 25, in recognition of Black History Month, the Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville will host a book presentation from LSU Associate Professor of Englist Dr. Angeletta Gourdine. Gourdine will present her book, Imagining Black Women in the Age of Michelle Obama, an in-depth look at modern black women and the cultural impact of the First Lady.   3. Take the Plunge for the Special Olympics: On Feb. 27 the annual Polar Plunge, benefitting the Louisiana Special Olympics, will take place at Cabela's lake in Gonzales.
