Jam out with local musicians: Ascension Jam will take place on April 16 at the 4-H building in Lamar-Dixon Expo Center from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The seven-hour music concert will feature bands from Ascension Parish such as Off the Grid, Trent Bourgeois, Arthur Broussard & the Back Yard Band, Mike Broussard and Kenny Cornett and Killin' Time Band.   2. Take the family to Music in the Park: On April 17, the City of Gonzales will feature its free spring concert series. The third musicians of the four-part series will be Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble. The event will be held at Jambalaya Park, 1015 E. Cornerview, Gonzales, from 2 p.m to 5 p.m.

  3. Go to the circus: The Jordan World Circus is making its way to Lamar-Dixon on April 18 at 7 p.m. Attendees will be amused by animals from around the world, from aerialists to acrobats to rare white tigers. For tickets visit eventbrite.com.
