Council amends speed limit ordinance

During the July 26 council meeting, an ordinance was passed regarding the speed limits in the City of Donaldsonville. On city streets, the speed limit is 25 mph, in school zones it is 10 mph and 15 mph on St. Vincent St. State roads are not included in the ordinance.

Six GSA invoices were approved for various projects in the total amount of $16,079.44.

The council approved a change order submitted by SJB Group for the Crescent Park Project in the amount of $236,473.45 and extended the contract an additional 15 days for Acadian Commercial Contractors due to high water.

A discussion was held regarding a property owner in Bocage Subdivision in violation of city codes. Residents in the subdivision have filed complaints against the owner saying they are spray painting vehicles on the property, which violates city codes. The matter will be investigated by the City's code enforcement officer.
