Napleonville woman arrested on third offense D.W.I.

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of a 43-year-old Belle Rose woman on Felony D.W.I. charges following a traffic stop south of Napoleonville.

A uniformed deputy was on routine patrol northbound on La. 1 when he noticed a vehicle ahead of him crossing the white fog line onto the shoulder. The vehicle then crossed the center line into the opposing lane and continued these motions for a distance.

The deputy activated his emergency signals and was able to stop the vehicle. The officer repeatedly ordered the driver to step out, but to no avail. The deputy approached the driver through the passenger side window and ordered the driver out. The suspect, Phoebe Joseph Dorsey, of 155 La. 1003, Belle Rose, smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test. She was placed under arrest and transported to the parish jail for chemical testing.

Dorsey’s blood alcohol concentration was recorded at .188. It was determined that Ms. Dorsey had two prior D.W.I. offenses.

Dorsey was booked into the parish jail for:

*Third Offense D.W.I.

*Improper Lane Usage

*Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection

Dorsey was jailed pending a bond hearing.
