Ascension Catholic to hold annual dinner, raffle

Ascension Catholic will hold their annual dinner, live auction and raffle on Feb. 11 at the high school gym beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $50, which includes food and drinks, and can be purchased from the high school at 311 St. Vincent St., Donaldsonville, or by calling (225) 473-9227.

Band meeting for former Lowery High School marching band

A band meeting for former Lowery High School Marching Band members will be held Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Ascension Parish Library in Donaldsonville.

The meeting is being put on by former Band Director Lloyd Johnston.

Bayou Lafourche Cleanup meeting scheduled

The Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP) will be hosting a planning meeting for the 2017 Bayou Lafourche Cleanup on Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Bayou Lafourche Freshwater District Office on St. Mary St. in Thibodaux.

The clean up event will be held on March 11 from 8 a.m. to noon and is projected to clean up 106 miles of the bayou from Donaldsonville to Leeville. The cleanup will be done mostly from boats, but volunteers will be needed to clean in areas around bridges and along the bayou side.
