Donaldsonville Krewe of Elks celebrates 84th Mardi Gras Ball

The Assumption Parish Community Center was the backdrop of “Under the Big Top” Saturday evening as the Krewe of Elks held its 84th annual Mardi Gras Ball. Serving as Ball Captain for the evening was Niles Riche, with Jessica and Stephen Folse as Ball Chairmen.
The evening opened with the final presentation of King Jolly Goodfellow LXXXIII Daniel C. Mattingly and his Queen Kaitlyn Marie Mistretta. As they were introduced, they extended their well wishes for this year’s royalty and took their final walk. A gift of roses was presented to the queen from Ladies Auxiliary President Ashley Beck Riche, Queen of Elks 1996.
Reigning over this year’s celebration were King Jolly Goodfellow LXXXIV David Hambrick and his Queen, Claudia Alexandra Rome. Rome is the daughter of Cliff and Rebecca Rome. She is attending Southeastern Louisiana University where she is majoring in Kinesiology and Occupational Therapy. She is a member of the Southeastern Catholic Student Association, Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, The Society of Collegiate Leadership & Achievement and is also a member of SELU Best Buddies Organization for disabled adults.
Paying homage to the King were this year’s costumed royal couples: Past Exalted Ruler Micah and Tammy Crochet, Past Exalted Ruler Troy and Ashley LeBoeuf, Past Exalted Ruler Rodney “REV” and Natalie Vega and Past Exalted Ruler P.L. “Kip” and Brandy Viallon.
Debuting as the Royal Court for King Jolly Goodfellow LXXXIV were Maid Kaylee Michelle Burns, daughter of Ed and Stacy Burns; Maid Brandi Ann Landry, daughter of Brett and Sandy Landry; Maid Claudia Alexandra Rome, daughter of Cliff and Rebecca Rome; Maid Michayla Elizabeth Spano, daughter of Kiley and Celeste Spano; Grand Duchess Julia Ann Beck, daughter of Past Exalted Ruler John Beck Jr. and Sally Beck; Grand Duchess Caroline Grace Louque, daughter of Past Exalted Ruler Bret and Jamie Louque; Duke Landon Paul Delatte, son of the late Lloyd Delatte, Jr. and Jon and Gina Richard; Duke Landon James Landry, son of James and Nobie Landry; and Duke Daniel Christopher Mattingly II, son of King Jolly Goodfelllow LXXXIII Daniel and Sandy Mattingly.
Junior Maids presented were Stacey Gabrielle Allee, daughter of King Jolly Goodfellow LXXII Stacy and Wendi Allee; Brooke Marie Gautreau, daughter of Past Exalted Ruler Kevin and Jill Gautreau; Devyn Yvonne Hambrick, daughter of David and Lydia Hambrick; Miranda Michelle Landry, daughter of Todd and Cristel Landry; Madison Elizabeth Tripode, daughter of Brian and Amy Tripode; and Taylor Noel Walker, daughter of King Jolly Goodfellow LXXXII Robert “Robby” and Aimee Walker.
Pages and Heralds paying homage to the King were Bella Katherine Crochet, daughter of Past Exalted Ruler Micah and Tammy Crochet; Charli Elizabeth Dugas, daughter of Neal and Marcel Dugas; Evelyn Louise Landry, daughter of Peter and Lauren Landry; Hollyn Reece Truxillo, daughter of Josh and Kimberly Truxillo; Kohen David Folse, son of Stephen and Jessica Folse; Hudson John Riche, son of Exalted Ruler Niles and Ashley Beck Riche, Queen of Elks 1996 and Ty Ruben Theriot, son of Brandon and Tiffani Theriot.
The festivities continued throughout the night with dancing to the music of the band, Driftwood. The evening concluded with a Royal Breakfast hosted by their majesties.
