Donaldsonville Primary receives new Assistant Principal

scension Public Schools announces the hiring of Assistant Principal Hope Gautreau to Donaldsonville Primary School. Gautreau is replacing Tennille Lange, who will become principal at Donaldsonville Primary in July.

"We are honored and delighted to announce the hiring of these key leadership roles at our schools," said Ascension Public Schools Superintendent David Alexander. "These new administrators bring with them a wealth of knowledge and depth of experience in our school district."

A life-long resident of Ascension Parish, Gautreau has been an educator since 1992. She spent two years as a special education teacher at Gonzales Middle School and 10 years as a special education and general education teacher at Gonzales Primary School. In 2008, she became an SBLC Facilitator at Gonzales Primary and has been serving in that capacity at Oak Grove Primary School for the past two years.

Gautreau earned a bachelor’s degree with dual certification in general elementary education and special education and a master’s degree in special education from Southeastern Louisiana University.  She also completed educational leadership courses with Southeastern Louisiana University and received her certification in 2008.

I feel extremely blessed to have been chosen for this very important position.  I am grateful to all of the educators I have collaborated with at Gonzales Middle, Gonzales Primary, Oak Grove Primary and district personnel for all I have learned from them throughout my career. I am looking forward to beginning this journey with the Donaldsonville Primary school and community," Gautreau said.
