Louisiana State Fire Marshal Chief Butch Browning was the guest of Rotarian Chuck Montero at the July 6th weekly meeting. Chief Browning has served now for ten years in this position. Annually over three hundred thousand inspections are done on buildings to make sure they are safe and keeping up with those who are labeled as arsonists are just a few of the duties performed by Chief Browning and his staff.

State Farm Insurance Agent Clifton Ourso, was the guest of Rotarian Sonny Graugnard at the July 13 weekly meeting. Mr. Ourso informed the members of the liabilities of the “self-driving automobile” or “automatic driving”. The so called self-driving cars still have a lot of testing to be done before it can truly be considered totally safe on the highway.

The Donaldsonville Rotary Club presented the Donalsonville Fire Department with $2,500 to purchase new pagers. The funds was the result of a grant that was awarded to the fire department. On had to receive the donation was Rotarian James McDonald of the Donaldsonville Fire Department.
