The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office reported Friday that two men were arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges after the execution of a search warrant.

28-year-old Wilbert R. Caldwell of 120 Matthew Street and 33-year-old Brandon Harris of 150 Pecan Street were approached by deputies with a search warrant on Thursday, October 26. According to a report, deputies watched three individuals exit a vehicle and attempt to flee.

Agents are still trying to identify the third suspect. However, the search turned up what was reported to be a large amount of marijuana, crack, and cocaine from another vehicle. Two handguns were also seized, and one of those had been stolen in a recent burglary.

Moreover, a handgun was located with a fully loaded ammunition drum.

Caldwell and Harris were placed under arrest and booked at the Assumption Parish Detention Center where they remain incarcerated. Both were booked on multiple drug and weapons charges. Both men are convicted felons.
