Belle Rose man pleads guilty to heroin possession

On June 4, 2018, Jeremiah Millien of 213 Hwy 1003 Belle Rose, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Millien was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2014 narcotics operation.

On June 17, 2014, narcotics agents with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Jeremiah Millien located in Belle Rose as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. During a search of the residence, agents located a large bag containing approximately 26 clear plastic baggies of heroin individually wrapped and packaged for sale. Agents also located a quantity of U.S. currency. Upon completion of the search, Millien took full responsibility for the items found during the search. Millien was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Jail.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
