Coronavirus outbreak traced to Gonzales wrestling event

The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed several COVID-19 cases linked back to the Louisiana Classic Wrestling Tournament held Jan. 15 to 16 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
LDH had received more than 20 reports of athletes, staff, and attendees testing positive, according to a release issued over the weekend.
Anyone who attended the event should consider themselves exposed and should immediately contact their healthcare provider to get tested even if they are not experiencing symptoms, according to LDH. All individuals attending the event should quarantine, or stay home, to prevent further spread.
Anyone with questions about isolation or quarantine can call the LDH Contact Tracing line for further information: 877-766-2130.
