Ascension Parish Sheriff Wiley reports the arrest of two men following a home invasion in Pelican Point. The identities of two additional suspects are being sought.

In the early morning hours of December 8, the Ascension authorities responded to a home on Wigeon Court in Pelican Point Subdivision after the occupant of the home was awakened to find an intruder in the home.

The investigation revealed that the homeowner was out of town and had someone house sitting for him. Upon the house sitter awakening and noticing the intruder in the home the sitter armed himself causing the intruder to flee the scene. The house sitter then discovered nearly ten weapons, ammunition, and two flat screen televisions had been stolen from the home by the intruder. Investigators located the televisions on the perimeter of the homeowner’s property.

Further investigation revealed the intruder left a bag behind at the scene that gave investigators their first lead. The bag contained duck tape, rope, and a handgun along with some mail. The mail had the name of Royce Davis II with an address of 6239 Royal Lakes Estate Gonzales. This address is also in Pelican Point Subdivision.

Armed with a search warrant, investigators responded to the Royal Lakes Estate home where they executed the search warrant and located Royce Davis II, three of the stolen weapons along with the ammunition. Davis was questioned and subsequently arrested for the burglary. He is originally from the state of Mississippi but has been staying with his parents in Ascension Parish for several months now.

As a result of Davis’ arrest a second suspect was identified as Jerome Richardson, Jr. of

Prairieville. Hours later Richardson was taken into custody at his home on Highway 42 in

Prairieville and one additional weapon were recovered.

On December 8, Royce Davis II, 28, of 6239 Royal Lakes Estates Road Gonzales was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and felony theft of firearms. Jerome Richardson, Jr. , 20, of 38561 Highway 42 Prairieville was also arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and felony theft of firearms.

No bonds have been set at media time.

Ascension authorities are still seeking the positive identity of two additional suspects. One is an African American female allegedly named Dynasty McNair. She is believed to reside in the Baton Rouge area but originally from Mississippi.
