According to Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack, the Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant with assistance of State Police on the evening of Jan. 12 at a residence, 316 South Bay Road, Pierre Part.  When officials entered the home, they yielded thousands of prescription pills, approximately $1,800 in cash, and various records and documentations supporting the shopping and obtaining of various prescriptions from pharmacies in the Houston, Texas area.

Included in the search, officials seized a vehicle owned by the resident.

Officials stated that a street value and exact count of the number of pills by type is not available as of the time of this release as Narcotics Agents are still conducting an inventory.

Officials said that this warrant was executed after numerous complaints and calls from residents against Roy Metrejean Jr., 48, of the above mentioned address selling prescription pain pills.

Sheriff Waguespack said that the investigation revealed that Metrejean would go to Texas to obtain numerous prescription pain pills and sell them from his residence and vehicle upon return to Pierre Part. Metrejean was also recently arrested on December 6, 2010 by Broussard Police Department after a traffic stop on highway 90 where he was charged with Possession of Schedule II CDS and $15,900 was seized from his vehicle.

Roy Metrejean Jr. was arrested on Jan. 12 and charged with Possession with intent to distribute Schedule III CDS (hydrocodone) and Possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV CDS (soma and xanax). He is currently being held in the Assumption Parish Detention Center. A Bond has not been set as of the time of this release.

This investigation is ongoing and furthers arrests and/or charges are pending at this time.
