Pierre Part residents arrested for racketeering
An ongoing investigation has led to an additional arrest of a Pierre Part Man and an arrest of a Pierre Part Woman for Racketeering. “Racketeering activity” means committing, attempting to commit, conspiring to commit, or soliciting, coercing, or intimidating another person to commit any crime which is punishable under the various provisions of Title 14 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes or the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law, or the Louisiana Securities Law. The penalties are defined as any person who violates any provision of this statute shall be fined not more than one million dollars, or imprisoned at hard labor for not more than fifty years, or both. These charges are a result of a subsequent investigation after a search warrant was executed by Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force with the assistance of Narcotics Agents from Louisiana State Police on January 12, 2011 at a residence located at 316 South Bay Road, Pierre Part, Louisiana which yielded thousands of prescription pills, cash (approximately $1,800.00) and various records and documentation supporting the shopping and obtaining of various prescriptions from various pharmacies in the Houston, Texas area. Upon subsequent investigation, it was learned that Roy Metrejean, Jr. would compensate people to ride with him to the Houston, Texas area and they along with Metrejean would visit various pain clinics where various scripts were being issued and have these prescriptions filled before returning to Pierre Part.
Roy Metrejean Jr., age 48 of 316 South Bay Road, Pierre Part was arrested again on Friday, February 11, 2011 and charged with Racketeering and he is being housed in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a $250,000 Bond. He was previously charged on January 12, 2011 with Possession with intent to distribute Schedule III CDS (hydrocodone) and Possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV CDS (soma, valium and xanax). He had bonded on those charges after posting a $300,000 Bond.
Glenda Mabile, age 50, of 3223 Highway 70, Pierre Part was arrested and charged with A Criminal Conspiracy to Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule IV and A criminal Conspiracy to Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule III and Racketeering. She is being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a $250,000.
