Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday night in Geismar.

According to Chief Deputy Tony Bacala, the Sheriff’s Office received a call at 9:53 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17 from an individual who had discovered a body in a car at Jackie Robinson Park off of Coco Rd. in Geismar.  When deputies arrived, they found the body of 28 year old Todd Hall of St. Gabriel inside of the vehicle.

Bacala said the victim’s brother told investigators that he had left their home in St. Gabriel at about 1:00 a.m. to go to meet someone.  Bacala added that the victim’s car had been seen in the park by a nearby resident at about 5:15 a.m. Thursday morning.

Bacala said that detectives are following up on some specific leads in the case but indicated that it was too early in the investigation to release details related to motive or possible suspects.
