The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking information from the public regarding the death of Versie Dunn.
On the morning of April 22, 2011 (Good Friday) ninety-two year old Versie Dunn was found unresponsive in his driveway on West 3rd Street in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. He lived alone in his home and was to turn ninety-three on May 18.
A preliminary investigation suggested that Dunn sustained injuries from a fall. He was immediately hospitalized for injuries to the left side of his head, shoulder and hip. Even though Dunn's medical records reflect that his injuries are consistent with a fall it is still undetermined if Dunn fell accidentally or someone pushed him to the ground according to Chief Deputy Tony Bacala.
The Dunn family told authorities that Dunn usually carried a wallet and cash but when Dunn was found, he had neither.
At this juncture of the investigation multiple canvasses have been conducted in the area of Dunn's home in an effort to obtain more details. A number of individuals have also been interviewed in hopes of gathering more facts of the death investigation.
While still hospitalized on May 5, 2011, after developing additional complications caused from the initial fall, ninety-two year old Versie Dunn succumbed to his injuries.
With the possibility of foul play being involved, the Sheriff's Office is offering a $1000 reward to anyone who can provide information that leads to a conclusive determination regarding the cause and circumstances of Dunn's death.
