Sheriff’s department rolls out new alert network

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office has a new way to alert citizens regarding crime-related information and other pertinent information. The Alert Network allows the Sheriff’s Office to instantly update you about crimes, emergencies, and other important information.

These alerts are available via text messages on your cellular device and/or via email.

4 types of alerts:

1.Citizen Alertsinforms all registered users of public safety concerns in the area. The alerts contain information about crime trends, descriptions of suspects, missing persons, as well as advice on personal safety.

2. Business Alertsare targeted to specific business types, information alerts regarding your business type will be sent.

3. Case Alertsallow law enforcement to automatically provide information about open cases to registered users.

4. Watch Group Alertsallow law enforcement to send targeted alerts to specific neighborhoods with information about crimes in the immediate area.
