On last Friday afternoon, Donaldsonville City worker, trustees from the Ascension Parish Jail, and other governmental officials hurried to prepare for bad weather.

“In case the weather conditions change for the worst, we want to be prepared and help our residents,” said Mayor Leroy Sullivan.

Workers and trustees sandbagged thousands of bags in the rain for residents in the Donaldsonville area.

“Our public works employees will be on stand-by the entire weekend in the event water accumulates on roadways and barricades are needed, or wind causes tree damage to public servitudes,” said Mayor Sullivan.
