Assumption Parish fugitives captured

Markese Dabney was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Feb. 24 for two active warrants – simple battery and failure to appear on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute Schedule 1. His bond has not yet been set, and he is still in custody as of the time of this release.

     LABADIEVILLE – Sheriff Bruce Prejean reports that on Wednesday, Feb. 24, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a tip in regards to the location of an individual with active warrants. 

     Deputies arrived at 120 Violet St. and spoke to subjects outside the residence before being allowed to search the house. Deputies located Markese Dabney, 21, of 211 Cardinal St., Labadieville hiding in a closet. During the search another individual was found hiding under the bed. He was identified as Travanti Williams, 26 of 147 Violet St., Labadieville. Williams was wanted by Assumption Parish, Lafourche Parish, Probation and Parole and the U.S. Marshals.

     Travanti Williams was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Feb.  24 for four active warrants – failure of sex offender to report address change; simple battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling; violation of probation and parole; and a warrant regarding child support. His bond has not yet been set, and he is still in custody as of the time of this release.
