Assumption Parish men arrested on armed robbery, burglary charges

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of two Belle Rose men on armed robbery counts and the subsequent arrest of a Pierre Part man on burglary charges in a related case.
Detectives learned the shotgun involved in the armed robbery case had similarities to a shotgun stolen in a Pierre Part burglary. Investigators then questioned one of the victims of the armed robbery and determined the shot gun involved in the armed robbery case was indeed the same gun stolen in a Pierre Part business burglary earlier last month. As a result of the investigation Jai’eres Bright, 19, of 108 Blackwell Lane and Bruce Landry, 21, of 191 Grisaffe Lane were charged with armed robbery and jailed pending a bail hearing.
Joshua Repp, 17, of 119 Oak Lane, Pierre Part, acknowledged his participation in the Pierre Part case and his attempt to sell the shotgun in Belle Rose. A 16-year-old was also identified as having been involved in the Pierre Part burglary.
Repp and the juvenile were booked with the Simple Burglary. Repp was released on bond and the juvenile was released to his parents.
