STAFF REPORT @dvillechief
Louisiana State Officer Candidates, Cole Holley of East Ascension High and DHS’ Daja Cox to represent Louisiana at national convention.

The DHS Betas will represent Louisiana during the National Beta Convention in June. DHS’ Jason Williams took second place in the Math State Competition qualifying him for the next level of competition. Daja Cox ran for State Vice-President and though unsuccessful forged a friendship with Presidential candidate Cole Holley of East Ascension High School, who won the title. Cox, Williams, Quenisha Green, Kasha Jarvis, Shaun Brown, Tyrielle Thomas, and Sponsor, Ms. Trudy Bates will represent DHS and the State of Louisiana.

DHS will join EAHS in running a political campaign as Cole runs for National President.

"We will enter our Service record for national competition for which we have placed in four of five years," Bates said. “We are excited to again make history for DHS during a year when the Beta theme is ‘Making History with Beta.’”

Bates added, “Richmond, Virginia is rich in history and the DHS Betas are ready to make their mark in history.”
