Blood Drive

Mt. Triumph Baptist Church was the place to be on last Saturday as members, friends and family came together to help the local blood bank. A blood drive was conducted to fill the need for the lack of blood supply that is affecting everyone throughout our state.

Suzy Porter with the blood center said their goal for the day was to get forty volunteers. Thanks to everyone in the community that goal was accomplished. Many thanks to everyone for your generosity that made it happen.

The blood drive was organized by Angela Knockum because her son has had to receive blood transfusions and this way she can help others no matter what their blood type.

St. Elizabeth School Lip Sync

If you were looking for local talent and a place to enjoy a great performance, then you should have been at St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Paincourtville for their annul lip sync contest.

The students did an excellent job and keep the crowd entertained throughout the night. Each grade did hits like “Cajun Rap Song” by the fourth grade, “Cars” by the seventh grade and my favorite Pre-K “Put Your Hair Up”.

All performances can be seen on the school’s facebook page.
