Pearce announces candidacy for District 5 seat
Thomas “Moose” Pearce has announced that he is a candidate for the District 5 seat in the City of Donaldsonville. The following is his prepared statement.
I, Thomas “Moose” Pearce, am announcing to the residents of Donaldsonville that I am a candidate for the District 5 City Council Seat.
I am a lifelong resident of Donaldsonville. I am married to the former Carol Ann Drummond, and we are the parents of eight children.
As a 1967 graduate of Donaldsonville High School, I continued my education earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Nicholls State University in 1978.
I have served our parish as President of the Ascension Parish Police Jury and Parish Council Chairman under the current form of parish government. I was also fortunate to serve as an Ascension Parish School Board Member. In addition to the aforementioned positions, I served as an employee under three Parish Presidents as a Chief Administrator Officer and Chief Executive Assistant. I also worked in many other areas as needed including, but not limited to, public works, drainage, recreation and facilities management. I believe my diverse experience in government will be an asset to the city council position.
As a lifelong resident I care about and am invested in the future of our city. I possess the knowledge and capabilities to perform the duties of a city councilman effectively, and I am willing and ready to do so.
I am confident that I, your candidate, Thomas “Moose” Pearce, can produce positive results for the people I will serve in District 5.
Your serious consideration of my qualifications, your support and your vote will be greatly appreciated.
