Lillian Barnes Joseph, a native of Paincourtville  and resident of Donaldsonville was entrusted into God's loving care Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 5:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was 70 and a homemaker. Visitation at Demby & Son Funeral Home July 1 from 4 - 6 p.m. Religious service at Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church July 2 at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Norman Lawrence. Interment at First Israel Baptist Church Cemetery  in Belle Rose. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Wanda B. Williams of San Antonio, Stacy and Mark Carrier of Tampa, Fla. and Jennifer Taylor of Tampa, Fla.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Deborah Barnes of Augusta, Ga. and Wayne and Janelle Barnes of Donaldsonville; seven nephews and nieces whom she reared and their spouses, Claude and Daydra Barnes, Winston and Tamica Barnes, Carl and Samatha Barnes, all of California, Martin and Tracy Barnes of Katy, Texas, Evenda and Pastor Kirk Clark and Neushaunda and Kenneth Dixon; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Gail and Terry Manuel, Catherine Barnes and Sharon Comery, all of Donaldsonville; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Hawitha Barnes of Chicago, Pastor Kevin D. and Brenda Barnes, Lawrence and Donna Barnes and Charles Barnes, all of California; 27 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, one child, parents, two brothers, five sisters and a grandchild. She was a dedicated choir member of Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.
