Dolores Agnes “Tinker” Fernandez was called home on Sunday, Dec. 5 at her home in Sugar Land, Texas at 7:02 a.m. She was a native of Donaldsonville. She was 59. She was a retired supervisor with the LA Department of Motor Vehicles.

She was a 1969 graduate of Donaldsonville High School and attended Xavier University.

Visitation was held at Demby & Sons Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Friday, Dec. 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and a Recitation of the Rosary was help at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 until mass of Christian Burial conducted by Rev. Ayo E. Efodigbue. St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Entombment was held in Ascension Catholic Mausoleum.

Survivors include her mother Helen Fernandez. A daughter, Michelle Fernandez, two sons: Marseyas Fernandez Sr., and his wife Keenya, and Allen Fernandez.

Seven sisters and their husbands: Alice and Herman Craige, Theresa and Walter Dupart, Doris and Tony Banks, Dorothy and Rev. Arthur Jones, Rita and Charles Richardson, Myrna and John Lewis, and Elizabeth and Levy Cooks.

Five brothers and their wives: Paul Fernandez Jr., Alcide and Jessica Fernandez, John Sr. and  Paulette Fernandez, Anthony Fernandez and Darren and Kim Fernandez.

Five grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her father, Paul Fernandez, Sr., a brother Charles Fernandez, and a sister-in-law Gerald Fernandez.
