CHARLET Raymond J. "Billy" Charlet died Monday, March 14, 2011 in Donaldsonville. He was 73 years old and a native of Assumption Parish. He was a former resident of Belle Rose and resided in Donaldsonville. He was a resident of the D'Ville House for the last 10 years. He was a graduate of Assumption High School. He is survived by his sister, Eula Charlet Ruggiero and his brother-in-law, Bruno "Butch" Ruggiero. He is also survived by his niece and godchild, Karen Ruggiero; niece Renee Ruggiero Fernandez and her husband, Tommy; and nephew, Bruno John Ruggiero. He is also survived by an uncle, Ervin Albarado, Sr., and aunt, Anna Charlet and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Albarado and Arthur Martin Charlet, a brother, Melvin Charlet, and an infant niece, Linda Ruggiero. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and resumed on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial followed at 10:30 a.m. at Brusly St. Martin Chapel with Rev. Phil Spano, celebrant. Interment was held at the church cemetery. Special thanks to all those who cared for Billy during his long illness, especially Ms. Aurelia Phillips, and the staffs of the D'Ville House, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Prevost Hospital, and Thibodaux General Hospital.
