Obit: Jones, John Henry "Pip"

Allison B. Hudson

A retired mobile equipment operator for Ascension Parish. A life-long resident

of Donaldsonville. He died on Friday, June 17, 2011 at his home. He was 62.

Visiting at Demby & Son Funeral Home, Inc. Donaldsonville. from 5-7p.m. on

Friday, June 24, 2011. Visiting continues at Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church,

Donaldsonville at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011 until religious services at 11

a.m. Conducted by Rev. Timothy Campbell. Interment in the Protestant Cemetery.

John leaves to cherish his memories to a loving and devoted wife, Jacqueline A.

Jones; a loving and devoted mother Mary J. Jones; six daughters and for sons-

in-law, Coileen and Andrew Dickerson of Baton Rouge, Charlotte Gibbs of

Donaldsonville, LaWana and Robert Gregoire of LaPlace, Shaddreka and Bryant

Jackson and Carmenta and Marvin Johnson of Plaquemine and Tameka Davis of

Jacksonville, Fl.; eight sons and two daughters-in-law, John E,. James E., Jamial

E., Jeremy Joes and Christopher Gibbs all of Donaldsonville, John Trevor Jones

of Atlanta, Ga., Troy and Tonia Dorsey of Dallas, Tx and Sgt. Charles L. and

Hannah Gibbs of Providence, Rhode Island; one brother and sister-in-law Lionel

and Rose Jones of Baton Rouge; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Janice and

Lloyd Bernard, Mary Batiste, Elizabeth Jones, Margaret and Lawrence Smith all

Donaldsonville, Victoria Landry of Gonzales. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Robert

Alexander, Andrew Taylor, Beverly Alexander , Winston Johnson, Brenda and

Maurice Jefferson, Robert Alexander and Jessie Hammer; eighteen grandchildren

and a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, James Willis, Sr.; Maternal grandmother,

Victoria Johnson; Daughter, Charlene Gibbs; Brother, James Willis, Jr.; Aunts

Leona and Juanita D. Motton; Uncle George Hardy and a niece Chineka Smith.

John loved sports and coached little league basketball and baseball.
