Allison B. Hudson

Homer Joseph Richard Sr., a native of Darrow and a resident of Atlanta, Georgia and a former long time resident of Donaldsonville passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 17 in Atlanta. He was 95. Visitation was held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Donaldsonville on Saturday, July 24 at 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Rev. Felton Ceasar conducted the service. Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Survivors include five daughters, Joyce L. Allen of Oakland, Calif., Doris Ricardo and her husband Ralph of Donaldsonville, Andrea Richard of Oakland, Calif., Patrice Tesfamichael and her husband Tsehaye of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Angela Richard of Atlanta.

One son, Homer Richard Jr., and his wife Sharon of Atlanta, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Six grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Daily Richard, his parents, Homer and Florida Joseph Richard, six siblings: Hebert, Henry, Arthur, Norward, Florida, and Grace.

He attended St. Augustine School and was a member of True Friends Benevolent Society.
