Obit: Barbara “Bobbie” Elaine Prejean Boudreaux

Barbara “Bobbie” Elaine Prejean Boudreaux, 94, a native of Belle Rose, and a resident of Raceland was entrusted into God’s loving care on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Thibodaux.

Visitation will be held at St. Hilary of Poitier Catholic Church in Mathews from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14. Committal will follow at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland.

Survivors include her three daughters: Claire and husband Phillip Ragozzino, Trudy and husband Bill Wells, and Ann and husband Kevin Allemand. One brother, Robert “Bob” Prejean, and sister in laws Mildred Falcon Prejean and Isabelle LeBlanc Prejean. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband: Bennie Antoine Boudreaux, parents: Robert Lawrence Prejean and Irene Olivia Thibodaux Prejean, and one brother Fred Prejean.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Hilary, a former employee of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and the Archives and Historical Research Center of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux for a combined total of 44 years. She was also administrative secretary to Judge Same A. LeBlanc, District Attorney Aubert L. Talbot, and Attorney Adoph Menuet.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Archives and Historical Research Center, Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, 205 Audubon Ave., Thibodaux, La 70301.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the following: Dr. Gregory Maidoh, the staff of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, the staff of Fresenius Thibodaux Kidney Center, the staff of Raceland Dialysis Center and the staff of Thibodaux Healthcare Center Nursing Home.
