Danny Paul August Marcombe, 46, a native of Kirkland, Washington and resident of Zachary, died at 10:30 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, La. on Saturday, Feb. 2 with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Danny is survived by his father, Wayland Paul Marcombe; aunts and uncles, Rose Clement, Marlene, and Walter Webre, Liz and Jean Morvant, Donna and Jordan St. Pierre, Calvin and Frankie Casteigne (Godmother), and Dr. Michelle, Dan, Haley, and Nicholas Collegan of Edmond, OK. Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Grace Montalbano Marcombe; sister, Paula; paternal grandparents, Hector and Enola Marcombe; maternal grandparents, Anthony (Tony) and Mary Montalbano; aunt Catherine Mayet; and uncle, Robert Marcombe. As a special-needs child, Danny, with his parents was the inspiration in the formation of the of the first class for special children in Donalsonville in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Hall, followed by donations from residents and local businessmen which were utilized to build the Humpty-Dumpty Center. This endeavor led to the establishment of the Mary Marcombe Home, for adults with special needs, continuation of the Donaldsonville Area Association for Retarded Citizens, DAARC, and the Dr. Percy H. LeBlanc Special Services Center in Gonzales, La.
