2008 All-Parish Football Team

Dutchtown's opponents can attest to that. A year after breaking school records in rushing yardage and touchdowns, Lacy's production slipped in his senior campaign after he had to sit out two games due to a knee injury. Lacy returned to garner the District 6-5A Offensive MVP in being named to the first-team for the second consecutive season after rushing for 1,046 yards on 153 carries and a team-high 17 touchdowns.

Lacy scored a career-high six touchdowns against Hahnville. He also caught seven passes for 130 yards and one touchdown in being named to the All-Parish team for the third consecutive season after splitting MVP honors with Donaldsonville's Champlain Babin last season.__Bryant Dunn _Junior Running Back _Donaldsonville _Offensive Tri-MVP__Dunn became the workhorse for Donaldsonville's triple option attack in 2008 after the departure of two college signees. The Tigers' second leading rusher a year ago, the junior diveback put up astounding number rushing for 1,578 yards on 159 carries to go with 16 touchdowns despite having Donaldsonville's first two games canceled in the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav.

Dunn went over 200 yards three times including Donaldsonville District 7-2A championship clinching victory over St. John. He was named Offensive MVP by district coaches and makes his first appearance on the All-Parish team. __Kelvin York _Senior Running Back _Dutchtown _Offensive Tri-MVP

York became more valuable to Dutchtown's ground attack than ever before in the absence of a fellow comrade early in the season. He led the Griffins in rushing with 1,227 yards on 173 carries adding 12 touchdowns earning second-team District 6-5A recognition.

York rushed for 150 yards against Redemptorist and 180 yards against Catholic in the absence of Lacy providing the decisive scores in both victories and produced another 180 yards in the Griffins' playoff victory over Hahnville.

The 2006 All-Parish Offensive MVP makes his third consecutive appearance. __Richard Buckland _Senior Defensive Tackle _Dutchtown _Defensive MVP __Buckland was one of only three returning starters on defense for the Griffins and the three-year starter set an example for and inexperienced unit.

Recognized on the District 6-5A first-team, Buckland had 54 tackles, including eight for losses to go with three fumble recoveries and four pass breakups.

Buckland makes his second consecutive appearance on the All-Parish team.__Benny Saia _Dutchtown _Co-Coach of the Year __Dutchtown has made the postseason five straight seasons under Saia, the last four in 5A.

The Griffins began the season 6-0 earning a No. 5 ranking in the Class 5A Louisiana Sports Writers' Association Poll, the school's highest ever. Dutchtown avenged its first loss of the season, 49-48, double overtime loss to Hahnville with a 35-7 victory in the playoffs before scoring 19 unanswered points in the second half but falling a yard short in a 28-26 regional loss to Barbe. _ __Gary Adkins _Donaldsonville _Co-Coach of the Year __Donaldsonville has made the postseason four straight seasons under Adkins after he took over a program that was 0-10.

Adkins, the District 7-2A Coach of the Year, guided the Tigers to a perfect regular season and their second consecutive district championship outscoring opponents 302-140. Donaldsonville went on to defeat Westminister in the playoffs before losing to Loyola Prep in Shreveport. __Scott Charleville _Senior Quarterback _Ascension Catholic __Charleville completed 60 of 118 passes for 881 yards and 10 touchdowns in his second season as the Bulldogs' signal caller and was named to the first-team all-District 9-1A team. __James LeBeouf _Junior Running Back _Ascension Catholic __LeBeouf rushed for 506 yards on 87 carries and had a team-high seven touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 73 yards and one touchdown in being named to the all-District 9-1A first-team, while also starting at linebacker __Chase Keller _Junior Wide Receiver _St. Amant __Keller caught a team-high 16 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns for St. Amant in being named to the all-District 6-5A second-team. __Jess Daze`_Senior Wide Receiver _Ascension Catholic __A second-team 9-1A All-District selection, Daze` was the Bulldogs' leading receiver catching 15 passes for 250 yards, three for touchdowns and averaging 16.7 yards per catch. __Colby Little _Senior Tight End _Dutchtown __Little caught five passes for 64 yards earning first-team 6-5A all-District honors, while also helping the Griffins rush for 3,280 yards. __Rusty Patterson_Senior Lineman _Donaldsonville__Patterson, a two-way starter for Donaldsonville, helped the Tigers rush for 3,569 yards in being named to the 7-2A All-District first-team. __Dwight Wright _Junior Lineman_Donaldsonville __A starter since he was a freshmen, Wright earned 7-2A first-team All-District honors after starting both on both the offensive and defensive line. __John Lambert _Senior Lineman _Dutchtown __Lambert earned first-team 6-5A all-District honors after help pave the way for the Griffins to rush for 3,280 yards and 41 touchdowns. __Frankie Sotile _Junior Lineman _Ascension Catholic __Sotile, a two-way starter for the Bulldogs, makes his second consecutive appearance on the all-Parish team after earning first-team 9-1A district honors by helping Ascension Catholic rush for 1,330 yards and 17 touchdowns. __Denzel Butler _Sophomore Lineman _Donaldsonville __A first-year starter, Butler earned first-team all-district 7-2A honors by helping the Tigers rush for 3,569 yards. __Matt McClelland _Senior Kicker _Ascension Catholic __McClelland made 15 extra points and connected on a field goal to score 18 points for the Bulldogs and be named to the first-team 9-1A All-District team. __Tre' Vaughn _Junior Return Specialist _St. Amant __Vaughn had 544 yards on 23 kickoff returns and 83 yards on 11 punt returns, while rushing for 388 yards and six touchdowns on 66 attempts in being named to the 6-5A All-District second-team. __Effrem Reed _Sophomore All-Purpose _Dutchtown __Reed rushed for 322 yards on 42 carries to go with two touchdowns and caught 13 receptions for 238 yards and two touchdowns in being named to the 6-5A all-District second-team at running back. __Laine Bailey _Senior Athlete _Donaldsonville __Bailey, a first-year starter at quarterback, completed 25 of 69 passes for 12 touchdowns and also ran for 732 yards and 11 touchdowns on 88 carries earning first-team 7-2A all-District honors. __Henry Mitchell _Junior Lineman _Donaldsonville __Mitchell, a first-team 7-2A all-district selection, had 42 tackles to go with six sacks and three fumble recoveries.__Wade Julien _Sophomore Lineman _East Ascension __A starter since he was a freshmen, Julien earned second-team all-District 6-5A honors after registering 64 tackles, including six for losses and four sacks.__Ryan Moll _Senior Lineman _East Ascension __Moll moved for wide receiver this season to earn second-team 6-5A All-District recognition after leading the Spartans with 17 sacks to go with 32 tackles, which five were for losses.__Akiee Turner _Junior Linebacker _Donaldsonville __Turner, Donaldsonville's middle linebacker since his freshmen season, showed how valuable he was when he recovered four fumbles in the Tigers' district championship clinching victory over St. John.

A first-team 7-2A All-District selection, Turner led the Tigers with 83 tackles. He makes his second appearance on the All-Parish team after being named as a tight end as a freshmen. __James LeBeouf _Junior Linebacker _Ascension Catholic __LeBeouf's value to Ascension Catholic's football team this season could not be measured. A two-way starter, he earned first-team 9-1A All-District honors at both running back and linebacker.

LeBeouf led the Bulldogs with 78 tackles, while picking up three sacks, breaking up three passes and intercepting one pass. He makes his second appearance on the All-Parish team, being named as a defensive lineman his freshmen season. __Randy Thackery _Senior Linebacker _Dutchtown __Thackery Thackery had a team-high 64 tackles, including five for losses, three pass breakups and one fumble recovery in being named second-team All-District 6-5A. __Trey Griggs _Senior Linebacker _East Ascension __Griggs makes his second consecutive appearance on the All-Parish team after earning second-team 6-5A All-District honors following making 33 tackles, one for a loss and one interception. __Zach Whittington _Senior Linebacker _St. Amant __Whittington led the Gators with 60 tackles, including two for losses and also had one sack in being named to the 6-5A All-District second-team. __Eric Reid _Junior Defensive Back _Dutchtown__Reid makes his second consecutive All-Parish appearance after earning first-team 6-5A all-District honors following leading the Griffins with four interceptions, while adding 53 tackles including three for losses, three fumble recoveries and six pass breakups.__Matt Richard _Senior Defensive Back _East Ascension __Richard makes his second appearance on the All-Parish team after being named as a sophomore following earning first-team All-District 6-5A honors. Richard had 54 tackles for East Ascension, one for a loss and two interceptions. He also had 125 yards and one touchdown on punt returns, 83 yards on kickoff returns and 128 yards receiving to go with two touchdowns.__Charles Caballero _Junior Defensive Back _Ascension Catholic __Caballero had a team-high three interceptions, six pass break ups and 61 tackles in being named to the All-District 9-1A first-team. __Darvelle Allen _Junior Defensive Back _Donaldsonville __Allen led Donaldsonville with four interceptions and had 32 tackle to earn first-team 7-2A All-District recognition.__Antonio Smith _Junior Defensive Back _Donaldsonville __A first-team 7-2A All-District selection, Smith had three interceptions and 26 tackles. __Grant Auzene _Senior Punter _Dutchtown __Auzene, making his third consecutive appearance on the All-Parish team, punted 28 times for 1,057 yards and a 37.8 yard average with a long of 61 yards to be named to 6-5A's All-District first-team.
