ABSOLUTELY: Ascension Catholic, Grisaffe shut down Delcambre in semifinals

Ascension Catholic’s Ashlyn Grisaffe strikes out MaKayla Viator in the fifth inning of the Lady Bulldogs’ 7-0 Class 1A semifinal victory Saturday morning. Grisaffe pitched 20 innings over three games striking out 24 and surrendering just 13 hits in a 25-hour span this weekend.

Trahan walked Aimee Guillot with one out in the second inning and Maggie Schexnayder singled before Ali Bourchereau’s fielder’s choice forced the runner at home.

Nancy Guillot singled before?Lassere’s crossed two more runs and Allison Falcon’s liner to left gave the Lady?Bulldogs a 5-0 lead.

Grisaffe retired nine straight batters before Kellie Nero and Trahan led off the fifth with consecutive single but Grisaffe struckout Linzy Landry and MaKayal Viator to end the inning unscathed.

Lassere singled to right to open the bottom half and Falcon reached on an error before Annie Ourso’s double reflected the final tally.

Trahan doubled to left with two outs in the top of the seventh but Landry flied out to second baseman Bouchereau to end the game.

Lassere was 3 for 4 ith two RBIs and two runs for Ascension?Catholic, while Nancy Guillot was 2 for 4 with one RBIs and two runs and Ouros was 1 for 3 with one RBI.
