Sunshine Bass club opened the 2011 tournament season on Sunday, Jan. 23. from the Belle River boat landing. It was a very cold start for the ten anglers in the tournament.

Kevin Falcon started Sunshine’s season with a bang with a five bass limit that weighed 17 pounds and 12 ounces. His four pound, 13 ounce fish was the “Big Bass” of the tournament.

Despite the cold water and the extremely low water in the basin, the local bass club fishermen made some good catchers.

David Imbraguglio took second place with five fish for 13 pounds, one ounce. Stephen Rome had five bass that tipped the scales at 11 pounds, four ounces for third place. Ed Burns Jr., was fourth with 10 pounds and two ounces. Charles Waguespack was fifth with eight pounds, 10 ounces.

Sunshine Bass Club will have its annual banquet to honor the top finishers of 2010 on Friday, Feb. 11 at Hymel’s Restaurant.

Tournament two will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13.
