Ascension Catholic Cross Country Competes At Episcopal's Round Table Run

The Ascension Catholic Cross Country Team competed at the Episcopal Round Table Run in Baton Rouge on September 17, 2011.

The Boy’s Jr. High team finished 5th out of 23 teams. The team was led by Zach Capello who finished 1st overall out of 250 runners and broke the all time 2 mile course record with a time of 10:27. Thomas Daigle finished in 7th place with a time of 11:46. Luke Spano finished in 39th place with a time of 12:57. The rest of the Jr. High team finished as follows: Logan Thibodeaux (13:38), Matthew Landry (14:46), Landon Delatte (14:58), and Aaron Landry (16:43). The rest of the team ran in the Boy's High School 2 mile race. Jesse Hood finished in 1st place with a time of 11:26. Trey Capello finished in 2nd place with a time of 11:48. Lee Oubre finished in 3rd place with a time of 11:58. Other finishers were Sam Mattingly (13:10) and Nick Wild (15:00).

The Girl's Jr. High team finished 13th out of 23 teams. Leading the girl’s team was Bailey LeBlanc who finished in 42nd place out of 242 runners with a time of 15:08. Mariana Cuervo finished 49th with a time of 15:18. Breanna Bernard finishe 67th with a time of 15:40. The rest of the team finished as follows:  Alicia Canatella (16:45), Lauren Landry (17:21),and Meredith Daigle (20:07). Running the Girl's High School 2 mile race were Haley Capello (17:17) and Simone Giroir (18:30).

The team next competes on October 1 in Baton Rouge at the St. Joseph's Invitational.
