Ascension Catholic Cross Country Competes At St. Joseph's Invitational

The Ascension Catholic Cross Country Team competed at the St. Joseph's Invitational  in Baton Rouge on October 1, 2011.

The Boy’s Varsity team finished 12th out of 33 teams. The team was led by Zach Capello who finished 9th overall breaking his own school record with a time of 16:15 for the three mile course. Jesse Hood finished in 45th place with a time of 17:27. Patrick Brou finished in 66th place with a time of 17:53.  The rest of the team finished as follows: Thomas Daigle (17:54), Lee Oubre (18:43), Luke Spano (19:27), Jordan Zeringue (19:55), Logan Thibodeaux (20:20), Sam Mattingly (21:02), Joseph Landry (22:25), Nick Wild (22:49), Matthew Landry (23:44), and Aaron Landry (26:29).

The Girl's Varsity team finished 24th out of 30 teams. Leading the girl’s team was Bailey LeBlanc in 94th place with a time of 23:01.  Whitney Eure finished in 96th place with a time of 23:06. Mariana Cuervo finished 129th place with a time of 24:02. The rest of the team finished as follows:  Breanna Bernard (24:13), Victoria Eure (26:08), Lauren Landry (26:10), Haley Capello (27:02), Simone Giroir (27:24), Alicia Canatella (27:51), Elizabeth Latino (27:52),,Meredith Daigle (30:48).

The team next competes on October 8 in Baton Rouge at the Catholic High Invitational.
