ACHS Bulldogs Lose District Opener
The ACHS Bulldogs lost their district opener to rival St John 53-6 in Plaquemine. The first quarter went back and forth until the Eagles scored and converted a two-point conversion to make it 8-0. The second quarter was not kind to ACHS as they gave up many big plays on defense as the Eagles scored four times.
The Bulldogs scored in the second quarter when Senior quarterback Collin Rowland hooked up with Senior wide receiver Jake Lejeune for a 20-yard touchdown. St John held a commanding 39-6 lead at the half. The second half saw the Eagles add two touchdowns and ACHS did not score.
The Eagles piled up over 500 yards of offense, with 417 coming on the ground. ACHS had a difficult time running the ball, as they have all year, and only managed 39 rushing yards. Rowland was 18-37 passing for 220 yards, he had two interceptions.
Lejeune, Senior Alex Olivier, Junior Thomas Gros and Freshmen Patrick Butler had receptions to lead ACHS. The Bulldogs dropped to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in District play.
