ACHS loses to West St John in District Play

The ACHS Bulldogs have gone through a brutal three game stretch facing three top 10 teams in Class A in CCMC, St John and West St John. The Bulldogs lost to the latter of the three 47-19 at Floyd Boutte Stadium.
The Rams of Edgard jumped out 28-7 in the first quarter. Trent Burgess recovered a fumble in the end zone for the Bulldogs only points of the half. The Rams added two more touchdowns before the half to make the score 41-7.
ACHS was not able to establish any running game and put the ball up 26 times in the air. The second half saw ACHS outscore the Rams 12-6 behind two long touchdown passes by Collin Rowland. Rowland connected with Alex Olivier for a 75-yard bomb and later found Thomas Gros for a 44-yard touchdown pass. The Rams had 512 yards of offense to 199 for ACHS. Rowland was 9-26 for 192 yards with two interceptions.
ACHS was penalized five times for 140 yards in the game. The Bulldogs dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in District 9A. ACHS will be back at home this Thursday at 7 p.m against Ascension Christian of Gonzales for a district game.
The game will be on KKAY 1590 AM with a 6:45 pregame start.
