Last Friday night at Floyd Boutte Memorial Stadium, the Donaldsonville Tigers fought a good fight against the Port Allen Pelicans but came up short as Port Allen outscored the Tigers 34-30.

The team sported their pink socks and other sporting gear, along with coaches all sporting pink shirts in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Fans also joined in as they painted the town pink and honored several breast cancer survivors during halftime. Wanda August, a breast cancer survivor, was awarded this year by the Tiger team.

“We just want to show our support for fighting breast cancer,” says Head Coach Terence Williams. “It makes a difference when you have support.”

Key player Devon Breaux provided 367 yards of total offense for the Tigers. Breaux ran for 141 yards on 24 carries with touchdown runs of 15 and 1 yards for Donaldsonville.

The Tigers play the Brusly Panthers in a 3A District 7 battle, on Friday, October 28. Donaldsonville will attempt to advance on its 3-5-season record.
