ACHS Boys and Girls’ Basketball Complete Season Sweep of the St John Eagles

The ACHS Boys’ Basketball team completed a season sweep of their rival, the St. John Eagles, with a 65-58 score in Donaldsonville.  ACHS fell behind after the 1st quarter 20-15 and trailed 34-30 at the half.  The Bulldogs used a 25 point 3rd quarter to take a 55-45 lead going into the last quarter.  Freshmen Jeremy Jones scorched the Eagles for 28 points, including four 3 pointers.  Freshmen Delmond Landry had 16 points and 13 boards.  Freshmen DeAndre Francis sparked ACHS with 12 points and 10 boards in his best offensive performance of the season.  Junior Thomas Gros had 3 points followed by Freshmen Jaquil Wade with 2.  Freshmen Patrick Butler had 5 assists to lead ACHS.  The Bulldogs went to 9-11 overall and 3-3 in District 9A.  ACHS will be on the road at #3 White Castle on Friday February 3.

The ACHS Lady Bulldogs completed a sweep of the Lady Eagles of St John with a 57-53 Overtime victory.  Sophomore Kyra Jones had a huge night with 28 points followed by Freshmen Jordan Brown with 23.  Junior Amber Carter had 4, followed by Sophomore Kaitlyn Mistretta and Kaitlyn Cayette with 1 point each.  The Bulldogs picked up their 3rd win in district to move to 3-3 overall in District 9A.
