Ascension Catholic Cross Country Competes At Walker Shootout
The Ascension Catholic Cross Country team competed at the Walker Shootout in Walker on October 20.
The boy's varsity team finished 10th out of 42 teams. The team was led by Zach Capello, who broke the school record and the all-time State of Louisiana 10th grade record with a time of 15:04 to finish in seventh place out of 311 runners. Jesse Hood finished in 42nd place with a time of 16:02. Trey Capello finished in 85th place with a time of 16:41. The rest of the team finished as follows: Thomas Daigle (16:54), Jordan Zeringue (16:57), Lee Oubre (17:08), Luke Spano (17:21).
The Girl's Varsity team finished 13th out of 26 teams. Leading the girl's team was Stephanie Breaux who broke the school record running a time of 20:22 and finished in 69th place out of 207 runners. Breanna Bernard finished in 77th place with at time of 20:32. Whitney Eure finished in 92nd place with a time of 21:01. The rest of the team finished as follows: Bailey LeBlanc (21:08), Mariana Cuervo (21:30), Danielle Brou (23:33), Catherine Eure (24:45).
The team will be hosting its annual Banana Relay and one mile time trial on Saturday, October 27, in Donaldsonville.
