The ACHS Bulldogs finished their home slate for the regular season with a perfect 5-0 record after beating East Iberville 55-20 on Senior Night at Floyd Boutte Memorial Stadium.

Coach Doug Moreau was very impressed with his team's preparation this week.

"We were dialed in all week after coming off a lackluster performance last week," he said. "The kids refocused and the coaches all commented how much energy their position players had all week."

It showed early as the ACHS offense got going cumulated by a 15-yard touchdown run by sophomore Jacquel Wade, the kick was no good and ACHS led 6-0. ACHS added its second touchdown in the second quarter when junior Gilbert Allen ran past the Tigers for a nine-yard touchdown. Junior quarterback DJ Latino found senior Wade Bailey in the corner of the end zone for the two-point conversion and the Dogs led 14-0. ACHS made their only mistake of the first half when junior Kenneth Dominique fumbled and the Tigers returned it 24 yards for a touchdown, the kick was no good and the Dogs led 14-6.

The second quarter was very good to ACHS after the fumble as the Bulldogs scored three quick touchdowns. Wade scampered in from 16 yards out and Bailey added another two-point conversion for a 22-6 lead. ACHS would get the ball back on an interception by Allen, who grabbed the tipped ball by Wade. Latino would drive ACHS down and cap it with a three-yard touchdown. Sophomore James Martin added his second extra point and ACHS led 29-6. Latino would find sophomore Patrick Butler for a 43-yard touchdown pass, the kick was no good and ACHS led 36-6 at intermission.

The third quarter belonged to ACHS as Latino found Butler again from 16 yards out, the conversion was no good and the Dogs held a comfortable 42-6 lead. The Bulldog defense held again and Wade scored his third touchdown of the night from 29 yards out, the kick was no good to make the score 48-6. The ACHS defense got a score on the next possession as sophomore defensive end picked up a fumble and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown, Martin split the uprights and ACHS scored their final points of the night and led 55-6.

The Bulldog reserves got some action in the fourth quarter and East Iberville scored two late touchdowns to make the final score 55-20.

Coach Moreau said, "We took care of business and now its time to prepare for White Castle, a very talented team."

"This game is important as the other nine, I would like for us to prepare like we did last week and we will be fine."

The Bulldogs will make the short trip down La 1 to White Castle this Friday night in what sets up as runner up game. West ST John has clinched a tie for the district title and would have to lose to have either ACHS or White Castle share the title.

The Bulldogs moved to 7-2 on the season and 3-1 in district. The Bulldog offense piled up 541 total yards with coming on the ground. Latino led the way with eight carries for 128 yards followed by Wade who had four carries for 88 yards, Dominique with seven for 77 yards, Martin with three for 67 yards, and Butler and Allen added 34 yards each. Latino was 3-4 passing for 76 yards with two touchdowns.
