Donaldsonville High hosted its jamboree and had several games played that kept the courts hot on a cold night. St. James, Lutcher and Dutchtown boy's teams played and DHS girl's team played against in-town rivals Ascension Catholic.

The boy's varsity team took on Dutchtown in the last game of the night and lost 42-28. The Tigers were competitive in the first half, but as the game went on things got away from them.

"I think some of our youth kind of showed up," head coach Barry Whittington said. "We had a lot of turnovers and missed lay-ups, which is something that can be corrected."

Many fans showed up to support the Tigers at the Jamboree and Whittington believes his team will give them something to root for this season.

"We're going to get back in the lab and start working hard making sure guys are in the position to be successful," Whittington said.

Whittington added, "I was pleased to see the fans show up. I really appreciate all our fans coming out."

The Tigers play their next game at home Monday against White Castle at 5:30 p.m.
