Capello, Hood make All-Metro cross country team

The ACHS cross country team landed two runners on the boy’s side for the 2012 All-Metro team: sophomore Zach Capello and junior Jesse Hood. For the girl’s, seventh grader Stephanie Breaux received Honorable Mention. And, head coach Rocky Capello earned the Coach of the Year award for leading the team to the second consecutive Class 1A state title and statewide ranking. Under Capello, ACHS boy’s team had three runners place in the top five at the LHSAA state meet.

Zach Capello won the 1A individual state title in 16:01.41 and placed third at the Metro meet. Hood finished runner-up and also marked fifth place at the Metro Meet. Breaux led the girl’s team to state runners-up and broke the ACHS all-time record with a time of 20:40 to earn eighth place at the meet.
