Rome wins Sunshine Bass Club Tournament

Sunshine Bass Club opened the 2013 tournament season with its first event on Sunday, Jan. 20 from the Belle River Public Landing.

Gerald Rome had a five bass limit that weighed a total of 11 pounds (lbs.), zero ounces (oz.) for the win. Ed Burns, Jr. finished in second place and had the only other five fish limit that went nine lbs. and four oz.

Jerry Chauvin finished third with an eight lbs. nine oz., fourth place was taken by Charles Waguespack with seven lbs. eight oz. He also had a four lb. five oz. bass included in his catch.

Chad Chauvin finished fifth with six lbs. two oz. His four lb. 11 oz. fish was the “Big Bass” of the tournament. Nathan Falgoust took sixth place with a total of five lbs. 12 oz.

The second tournament for the Sunshine Bass Club is set for Sunday, Feb. 17.
