ACHS boy’s basketball loses 88-67 to White Castle
With a 3-5 district record, the ACHS Bulldog basketball team is still in the hunt to make the playoffs if the team wins the remainder of its games. It’ll be a tight squeeze, especially since the 88-67 loss to White Castle Friday night that kept the team away from .500.
The Bulldogs came out trailing in the game, behind 21-12 at the end of the first quarter and never was able to command the lead from there. Much of the damage was caused by White Castle’s senior Deandre Bellock, who put up 28 points, and sophomore Moses Young, who added another 25 to the scoreboard.
The Bulldogs’ Kaleb Winchester and Gilbert Allen worked to lead the team back into the game but White Castle always had an answer.
“We played well against runners-up and battled with them for three quarters,” ACHS coach Reginald “Duck” Ball said. “They just really stretched it out in the fourth quarter.”
The Bulldogs play their next game at home against West St. John for Senior Night on Feb. 8. Game starts at 5.
